How can I match a view name to the view number presented in the Module/ObjecT URL? e.g. doors://***:***/?version=2&prodID=0&view=00000007&urn=urn:telelogic::1-3c3c1ae0491f1484-O-497-00003ae6 If I get the URL from dxl there is no view item, so looping through each view and printing the URL is no help. Invoking each in turn and reading the URL may be bearable for a dozen views, but is verytedious for more. Any thoughts welcome.

Re: Match View to URL Did you check, if the for viewname in Module do index++; loop might reflect the view numbers correctly ? Regards, Mathias |
Re: Match View to URL Unfortunately no. presents views in alphabetic order. code used =
int index =0
for viewname in views mod do then read URL, view not as expected. |

Ok, how about building a reverse Skip list by calling: string decodeURL (string, string& dbHost, int& dbPort, string& dbName, string& dbId, Item&, ModuleVersion&, string& viewName, int& objectAbsno) with different pseudo URLs and indices from 0 ... n (until an error occurs) ? Regards, Mathias Thanks for the lead, have now got it working. Two causes of difficulty, a) my DXL manual does show viewname in the decodeURL description b) theview identified in the URL passed to me had been deleted.
